Photography during a family vacation is not always very easy on them. Especially for a sunrise at 6.30am! Now the good thing when travelling the parks in an R.V. (a.k.a camping car for my European friends) is that you can quietly slip into the driver seat in the early morning. You then drive towards the target trail and hike out while everyone else remains in their sleeping bags and briefly peek, half awake, at the sunrise through the curtains.
As you may have guessed, this is Bryce Canyon. It was 7.10am. The sun provides a back-light to the tree, while the reflection of the sun on the limestone give these earthy tones to the hoodoos.
