Weather along the Pacific coast can be unpredictable, but an overcast sky is always heaven for soft tones and pastel colors. When the rain started falling we could not be stopped for the concept we had in mind of catching the storm.
Except for the cloud, I captured this image fully in-situ, near Half Moon Bay, California. The rope was attached to a tripod which I later removed in post-processing. The cloud is bundle of cotton with a string of LED lights running behind to create shadows, which I composited into my final image.
