Out of town

While visiting the parks of the Colorado Plateau, I wanted "different" pictures than the classics which can be found everywhere on the web. So I pledged not to post any of my pictures of Delicate Arch!
But Antelope canyon... I could not skip. Here is one with only very minimal contrast and exposure adjustment. No tricks. This place is surreal. Pure magic!Earthy tones
Photography during a family vacation is not always very easy on them. Especially for a sunrise at 6.30am! Now the good thing when travelling the parks in an R.V. (a.k.a camping car for my European friends) is that you can quietly slip into the driver seat in the early morning. You then drive towards the target trail and hike out while everyone else remains in their sleeping bags and briefly peek, half awake, at the sunrise through the curtains.
As you may have guessed, this is Bryce Canyon. It was 7.10am. The sun provides a back-light to the tree, while the reflection of the sun on the limestone give these earthy tones to the hoodoos. Not a square centimeter to spare
When you walk the northern side of Lake Leman in Switzerland, east of Lausanne, you will see a multitude of green terraces. These are the vineyards of the region of Lavaux. Not a square inch of terrain is wasted, and on this southerly exposed hill, with a view over to France, the grapes can grow happily.

Or "as much sun as you can get" some of the mornings in San Francisco.
This is from an early morning (5.30am) photowalk at Warm Water Cove, which was expertly organized by +Sam Breach for the G+ one year anniversary.
